Promises to My Readers

These are things you can count on in my books

No exploding the integrity of the whole just for the sake of surprise

Sure, everyone wants to keep on guessing till the very end – that’s what we love about mysteries. But I hate it when a creator destroys the artwork as a whole simply to make sure we’re surprised by the ending (Think Game of Thrones finale. Horrible, horrible.) After all, there are multiple areas where we can be surprised: there’s whodunnit of course, but also whydunnit and howdunnit. Then there are the minor but important elements of the subplot – how will the characters resolve those personal issues that come up in the process of their escapades? You may guess some of these, but will you guess them all? I hope not, as I would like you to enjoy reading to the very last page and close my books feeling satisfied. But if you do guess, so be it. I will not destroy the believability of my characters or their world in order to prevent that from happening. I’ll just try to fool you next time.

Pets and other animals are safe!

I always dread seeing beloved pets in a thriller, because I know that they are almost certainly doomed to some sad and possibly grisly death. No way, not here. When I introduce animals of any kind into my stories you can rest assured that no harm will come to them. They are there purely for their cuddly lovability, to add a touch of joy and warmth to the lives of my characters.
